Hearts For Kids started out as just an idea. As she watched a T.V. show, Faith S. learned about kids in foster and adoption homes and she really wanted to do something for them. So when she was eight, Faith and her mother, Kris, came up with the idea to start a Valentine’s project for the kids awaiting foster care and adoption in the Rapid City area in 2014. That year with the help of her school, they made over 600 Valentines for the Children’s Home Society. Another year came by and they decided to take it a little farther and got their church involved as well. In 2015 the third grade class got to deliver over 1100 Valentines to the Children’s Home. Now they plan to deliver happiness to the Women’s and Children’s Shelter and other communities. They have also decided to do more than just Valentines. There are some new and fun projects coming up soon. To do this Faith and Kris will be working diligently to raise funds and help to raise awareness and make the kids happy.
